What exactly is a ceramic coating?
A ceramic coating is a liquid polymer applied by hand to the exterior of a vehicle. It chemically bonds with the factory clear coat, creating a semi-permanent layer of protection. This layer is highly resistant to chemical etching, UV damage, and creates a hydrophobic surface that repels water and dirt.
How long does paint protection typically last?
The longevity of a ceramic coating depends on the specific grade applied and how the vehicle is maintained. Professional-grade coatings can last anywhere from 2 to 5 years, or even longer with proper care. Regular safe-washing techniques are required to maintain its durability and gloss.
Does car detailing remove scratches?
Standard washing does not, but the paint correction phase of high-end auto detailing does. By safely polishing the clear coat, we can permanently remove fine swirl marks, marring, and light scratches. Deep scratches that have penetrated past the clear coat into the base color cannot be fully removed through polishing alone.
What is included in a full interior detailing?
Comprehensive interior detailing involves a thorough cleaning of all cabin materials. This includes vacuuming, hot water extraction for carpets and cloth, deep cleaning and conditioning of leather seats, wiping down all hard surfaces, cleaning glass for streak-free visibility, and addressing crevices using specialized brushes and compressed air.
Do I still need to wash my car after it's coated?
Yes. While a ceramic coating keeps your car cleaner for longer and makes the washing process significantly easier due to its self-cleaning effect, dirt and road film will still accumulate. Regular two-bucket hand washing is recommended to keep the coating performing optimally.
